I got invited to participate in a panel discussion titled “Embracing Diversity, Enriching Well-being: Insights from International Talent in Estonia” at Arvamusfestival this year, and the topic of language came up - pitching Decode Estonian was actually welcome in that situation based on the audience feedback.
Scoring the week
Another round of accountability!
My 12 Week Plan, scheduled to end on the 16th of October, has a singular goal: reach a turnover of 5000 EUR for Decode Estonian.
Currently, I’m sitting at €1,830.10
, out of which €8.18
was earned in Week 32.
After ticket sales, the new income is from new paid subscribers on Substack, motivating me to write further.
The progress tracker is still here if you are curious about the details.
Week 3 of 12 was the worst so far, because I didn’t plan according to things I already knew many weeks ago like my mother visiting and me wanting to spend time with her.
The lesson here is definitely to adjust plans to the circumstances!
Week 32 also brings…the worst execution score ever: 58.33%
Testament to my inability to adjust plans!
Feelings
Making €8.18
in a week is not much progress toward the goal, but at least it is progress 🥲
The biggest failure besides making plans was not scheduling time to make the three sales calls I had planned.
I thought I’ll just do them “when I have time”.
Of course, there was always something more important and I kept postponing those calls.
So in the end I made exactly 0 of those 🫠
To address this, I’ve booked a slot in my calendar for this purpose in Week 33 so that I will definitely happen and I won’t chicken out of making sales calls.
Outcome
✅ Sunday was the time to deliver another workshop and, while draining, it was also a ton of fun to deliver those workshops. It feels a bit like a 6-hour stage performance with a few breaks, and it’s different every time – a good reminder of why I want this project to work out.
✅ Producing content together with Käti is working really smoothly now and we have a month of content scheduled in advance 💪
❌ Week 3 was another spectacular failure on the sales front because I didn’t make a single call.
