Execution counts, which is why the Moving Mountains events are back for early morning focus sessions with positive peer pressure ⏳
Scoring the week
The penultimate round of accountability! At the time of writing this, the last week of the plan has started.
My 12 Week Plan, scheduled to end on the 16th of October, has a singular goal: reach a turnover of 5000 EUR for Decode Estonian.
Currently, I’m sitting at €3,664.5
, out of which €4.09
was earned in Week 40.
The new income is from one (1) paid subscription on Substack.
The progress tracker is still here if you are curious about the details.
Week 40 had a terrible execution score again: 41.67%
Feelings
I feel like the 12 Week Year concept is actually working pretty well, but I see two mistakes I made:
I didn’t actually schedule a block of focus time for making progress on the goals,
with the dark season starting in Tallinn, I’m prioritizing social interactions over everything else
Looking back at the actions I tend to skip: it’s mostly producing new content for the website and doing B2B sales.
For B2B sales: I still don’t have a process in place. My only serious lead came from a lucky coincidence at Fika.
New content: while there is a content plan, I’m currently stuck on the more creative bits which feels like a blocker.
My takeaway so far is that I should have picked different activities for my plan - things that actually generate income and are fully under my control, like advertising and executing the workshops.
Outcome
⚙️ Last week I complained about managing energy levels in the second half and I feel like last Sunday I made a breakthrough here: encouraging people to stand up and not just sit makes a huge difference, as well as guiding them on how to take their notes. With the last group, we didn’t have to rush through any material 💪
⚡️ On Sunday one person wanted to join on very short notice in the middle of the workshop and deciding on the spot that joining half-way through and paying half turned out to be a good decision: I feel like they actually got roughly half of the value.
✅ The “Study Group” is now a thing - meeting once a week for an hour, providing accountability to people who have attended the workshop and want to continue working on their Estonian.
⏳ The new teaching aids are actually taking shape in Canva now and this time (round number 3 or 4, I lost count), I’m actually seeing this becoming a real thing.
